The King William’s Town Golf Club (KGC) is one of the oldest clubs in South Africa. The Club was established in 1892. It hosted the South African Golf Tournament in 1896 and again in 1902, a year before the establishment of the now popular South African Open (SA Open). The course has great significance for golfer Ernie Els. His victory here in 1991, his first as a professional, was when his glorious career began.
The King William's Town Golf Course is situated in the Eastern Cape Provincial Town of King William’s Town along the N2 highway, close to the eastern entrance into King William’s Town urban node.
